Holistic Massage
Holistic Massage not only has physical benefits but psychological ones too. So it's good for the Mind, Body and Spirit.
As well as working physically on the body, with a variety of massage techniques, I will be helping you relax which will help your body get out of your sympathetic ('fight or flight') nervous system and into your parasympathetic ('rest and digest') system. This reduces the stress hormones in your body and allow your mind and body to do some healing too.
Contra-indications and cautions
Please see the information here with the contra-indications and cautions.
What are my options?
You can choose a 60 minute, 75 minute or 90 minute massage. Each massage will be tailored to meet your needs. If you want a full body massage, and have a specific issue that you need help with (for example sore neck/shoulders) then you would be best to book in for 75 or 90 minutes so I still have time to work on the other areas too.
For clients with larger bust, surgery scarring, or even just for comfort I have a super comfy chest pillow I can use for you to lie on and relieve the pressure from your chest area.
As I work holistically, I will adapt each treatment intuitively as needed, providing extra healing if you need it, using Fascia/Connective Tissue release, Reiki, energy healing etc.

Investment:
£55 for 60 mins
£65 for 75 mins
£75 for 90 mins
This treatment can be combined with other treatments
Indian Head Massage
What is Indian Head Massage?
Indian Head Massage is a therapy that has evolved from traditional techniques practised in India as part of family rituals for over a thousand years. The underlying philosophy is that health results from harmony within one’s whole self. Massage is part of daily life in India and is an acknowledged method of cleansing and maintaining the health of the body and understood to be an extremely beneficial practice for achieving joy and inspiration.
The treatment is seated with you in an upright position and involves massage to the upper back, shoulders, upper arms, neck, face and scalp.
Head massage not only proves an invaluable treatment, it also helps relieve stress related problems including headaches, eyestrain and neck/shoulder stiffness. The skull is covered with a thin layer of muscle which tightens when we are feeling tense, resulting in a headache and/or feeling of anxiety. By relaxing the muscles, a head massage can improve blood flow, alleviate anxiety and relax your whole body.
There are energy centres in the shoulder, upper back, neck, upper arms and face regions, the treatment of which can benefit the whole body. A combination of rhythmic strokes will soothe and rebalance the energy flow, creating feelings of ease and peace
This relaxing treatment will be combined with Reiki/energy healing to bring you back into balance across your mind, body & spirit. For more information on Reiki please click here.

Pregnancy Massage
A soothing massage to help a mum-to-be relax, relieving tension from the body, relieving aches and pains and helping skin suppleness and elasticity. It induces a feeling of wellbeing - a happy mum and happy baby.
With pregnancy massage, the mum-to-be will mostly be lying on their side whilst I massage their back, neck & shoulders, arms & legs. After I have massaged one side I will ask them to turn over to their other side. For a short period near the end they will be asked to lay on their back (with the back rest of the bed raised) so I can massage their lower legs/feet and also upper chest area.

Oncology Massage
(massage for those living with cancer)
What is oncology massage?
Oncology massage is gentle massage specifically adapted to the needs of people who have a current or previous cancer diagnosis.
Individuals how have had massages during cancer treatments have reported a range of positive outcomes, including:
-
Improvement in sleep
-
Better quality of life
-
Improvement in mental clarity and alertness
-
Ease of movement
-
Increase in relaxation
Massage is a complementary therapy which means it can be used to complement your conventional medical treatment. But it is not a treatment for cancer and cannot be used in place of conventional treatment.

Can Oncology Massage spread cancer?
Cancer patients sometimes worry that having a massage when they have cancer may make the cancer cells travel to other parts of the body, but there is no research to prove this to be true.
Gentle massage does not increase vascular or lymphatic circulation any more than activities of daily living such as exercise, shopping or taking a warm bath.
What adaptations are needed?
Before treatment, we will go through a consultation process and discuss a variety of things including your medical treatments, side effects, surgery areas, what you want to get out of the treatment, etc. I will check in with you before any follow-up appointments too, as things can be different every time.
We will then determine what adaptations may be needed. This may include things like:
-
Adding extra cushions/bolsters for comfort
-
Altering the position you lie on to avoid discomfort (for example, we may consider a side lying massage instead of lying on your front if you have had recent surgery)
-
Altering the length of the session e.g. shortening the session where your energy levels are lower etc
-
Determining the level of massage pressure to ensure you get the most out of your treatment without putting undue pressure on your body.
For clients with larger bust, surgery scarring, or even just for comfort I have a super comfy chest pillow I can use for you to lie on and relieve the pressure from your chest area.
If you have lost your hair and are currently wearing a topper or wig, you are welcome to remove this if you feel comfortable to prevent getting oil in it. I can incorporate scalp massage into the treatment if you would enjoy that. You are welcome to wear a scarf if you'd prefer. The main thing is for you to be able to relax and feel comfortable.
